Fascism is Trash


 

The fear of a return of His Malignancy The Mad King to the White House grows by day in this election year of 2024. I awoke (yes, awoke) this morning with it on my mind. Last night we were watching "When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit" which may account for this morning's musings. Fleeing home from fascism has been dramatized countless times but it has, for the most part, been focused on the Holocaust. Often, escape from Germany and fascism in the mid-20th century is the setting. The tragic loss of home and hearth and all that it encompasses is, of course, an ancient tale that never seems to end.

Enter His Malignancy and the hordes of sociopathic followers in this, the 21st century. What are the chances they will actually come into power, overcome The Mad King's multiple indictments and have their seditious Brownshirts released from prison in the wake of the January 6 attack on the Capitol?  We like to think those chances are slim. That said, shouldn't we "Be prepared", like the scout's motto says? What preparations should we consider? Is it as simple as fight or flight? What will you do?
